Get Moving This Summer: A Run-Down of Marathons in Wyoming

Whether you choose to walk or run, there's plenty of opportunities to get outdoors and get moving at one of the marathons, races, and charity runs around the state this summer.

All summer long, there are lots of walk/runs all over Wyoming! These are great ways to get outside and moving with the family, and are usually for all levels of experience. Most of the race entry fees will benefit various charities, and you can usually score a cool T-shirt. Plan ahead for the race of your choice—earlybird sign-ups will get you the best pricing.


June 28: Dubois

High Country Challenge


This race is great for all ages, as there are 15K, 10K, 5K, and 1 mile “fun run” options. All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Dubois.


June 28: Meeteetse

Wagon Box Social Mountain Run


With 5K, 10K, and 13K options, this scenic run is designed for six different age groups. 


July 4: Lander

Half Marathon and 5K Challenges for Charities


The racecourse is both a scenic and challenging route through beautiful rolling hills along paved country roads. A complimentary breakfast is provided, and winners in each category get nonprofit bucks to donate to the charity of their choosing.


July 4: Mountain View and Ft. Bridger

Linda K Woody Memorial Foundation 5K


There are tons of fun activities for the family going on all day after the race. From barbeque to “extreme kid games” and even a haunted house, this is sure to be a fun-filled day to remember. Proceeds benefit the Linda K Woody Memorial Foundation, which helps provide communities with education and support services related to early childhood development.


July 12: Wheatland

Color Dash 5K


The Color Dash is known around the country as the 5K with the most fun. Dress up in goofy clothes and prepare to be surrounded by colorful dye bombs as you walk or run through town with friends and family. Proceeds benefit charities or organizations in your local community.


July 12: Laramie

Downtown Toodeloo 5K


This run is part of the annual Jubilee Days celebration, starting and finishing at the First Street Plaza. Top male and female finishers and runners will be awarded, and there is also a Kids’ Run.


July 18: Casper

REV3Glow Night 5K


It’s not only the stars that shine at night—REV3 Glow runners do too! Come on out for an evening of summer fun in Casper, Wyoming. Take part in a 5K or 1-mile fun run dressed to the hilt with glow sticks and all things bright and shiny. Flash and sparkle your way around the paved course starting and finishing at Mike Lansing Fields. After the race, watch a movie under the stars sponsored by Anadarko and treats provided by Taco Johns.


July 19: Mountain View

Chase the Flames 5K/10K/Half


This run is a fundraiser for the Bridger Valley Firefighters Volunteer Firefighter Fund.

All proceeds benefit firefighters that have been injured while serving the communities of the Bridger Valley and also help support the local high school seniors with scholarship money for college.


July 19: Casper

Healing Hearts 5K


This run benefits the Casper Self Help Center and the Natalie Miller memorial trust fund. It is also a color run, so participants are encouraged to wear white clothes and have fun with it!


July 21: Cheyenne

REV3Glow Run


This is just like the Glow Run earlier in the month in Casper, where you can take part in a 5K or 1-mile fun run dressed to the hilt with glow sticks and all things bright and shiny. These are the only two Glow Runs in the Western region.
